A General History of the Pyrates by Daniel Defoe, hand-bound in genuine leather by LeatheredLines. First published in 1724 under the name Captain Charles Johnson, and long attributed to Daniel Defoe, this book is the source of most of what we know about the golden age of piracy. It tells of Blackbeard, Bartholomew Roberts, Calico Jack and the women pirates Anne Bonny and Mary Read. It has shaped every pirate story since.
About this leather-bound edition
We cover every book in genuine leather by hand, finishing the spine with gold-tone foil titling and decorative tooling in the tradition of fine library bindings. Because each copy is made individually, small variations in leather grain and colour are a natural sign of handwork.
The thickness and weight of the finished book depend on the length of this particular title. Longer works make a noticeably thicker volume, while shorter works are slimmer.
