In Praise of Folly by Desiderius Erasmus, hand-bound in genuine leather by LeatheredLines. Written in 1509 while Erasmus was staying with Thomas More, and published in 1511, this satire is narrated by Folly herself, who delivers a speech in her own praise. She claims credit for everything that makes life bearable, from love to friendship, before turning her wit on the vanities of monks, theologians, princes and popes. A brilliant classic of Renaissance humanism.
About this leather-bound edition
Our binders work each cover by hand: genuine leather is fitted over firm boards, the spine is lettered in gold-tone foil and finished with traditional decorative detail. Every copy carries the small natural variations that come with real leather and handcraft.
The thickness and weight of the finished book depend on the length of this particular title. Longer works make a noticeably thicker volume, while shorter works are slimmer.
