The Jungle by Upton Sinclair, hand-bound in genuine leather by LeatheredLines. Upton Sinclair's 1906 novel follows Jurgis Rudkus, a Lithuanian immigrant, and his family as they are crushed by brutal conditions in the Chicago stockyards. Its revelations about meatpacking so shocked the public that they helped bring about the Pure Food and Drug Act and the Meat Inspection Act. Sinclair said he aimed at the public's heart and by accident hit its stomach.
About this leather-bound edition
Our binders work each cover by hand: genuine leather is fitted over firm boards, the spine is lettered in gold-tone foil and finished with traditional decorative detail. Every copy carries the small natural variations that come with real leather and handcraft.
The thickness and weight of the finished book depend on the length of this particular title. Longer works make a noticeably thicker volume, while shorter works are slimmer.
