The Madman by Kahlil Gibran, hand-bound in genuine leather by LeatheredLines. Kahlil Gibran's first book written in English, published in 1918, is a collection of short parables and prose poems. Its speaker is a man who loses his masks and is called mad, and who finds in that madness a strange freedom. Spare, ironic and visionary, it foreshadows The Prophet, which followed five years later.
About this leather-bound edition
Each copy is bound by hand in genuine leather over sturdy boards, with decorative tooling and gold-tone foil lettering on the spine. Natural variation in grain, shade and foil impression is part of the character of every handmade book, so no two copies are exactly alike.
The thickness and weight of the finished book depend on the length of this particular title. Longer works make a noticeably thicker volume, while shorter works are slimmer.
